Message from our Undersecretary:

Foreword

Education is a process of acquiring or imparting knowledge, developing the power of reasoning and judgment and generally of preparing oneself or others intellectually and socially for mature life.

Education responds to the aspirations of the nation. It is through education that the national vision i.e. Vision 2016, can become a reality and its ideals made part of our every day life. To achieve this, the Ministry of Education,Science and Technology, through its different programmes, strives to develop and nurture skills, attitudes and talents in the learners from primary to tertiary level.  Through a diversified curriculum, we aim to develop a diversity of skills that the country needs for economic diversification and global competitiveness. The education system also strives to inculcate a sense of purpose and social responsibility to ensure nation building within a diversity of cultures.

The Ministry of Education Science and Technology has found it necessary to use Information Communication Technology to ensure easy access to information and knowledge since these are critical for decision-making and efficiency in a knowledge economy. Disseminating information through the Internet, particularly the Ministry of Education and Skills Development website will enable timely provision of up to date information to the Ministry clientele. With the feedback provided, the Ministry can, where appropriate, make adjustments to ensure that the services it provides meet the expectations of its clients.

The information in the website targets all stakeholders i.e. non-formal, formal, literacy learners, distance learners and tertiary learners thus addressing the issues of education for all. It is also targeted towards the parents and any organization with interest in education.

The Ministry wishes all the users of this website successful navigation and hopes that they find the information that they need. We would appreciate feedback as it will help the Ministry improve on its service delivery.
